A striking late 19th-century French black slate mantel clock, crafted in the classical architectural style with columned sides, a domed crest, and gold-painted ornamental details. This is a substantial and beautifully made example typical of fine Paris workshop clocks of the era.

The enameled dial features stylized Arabic numerals, ornate hands, and a warm brass center plate marked “Brocot”, indicating a Brocot-style escapement regulation—a hallmark of quality French clockmaking.
