Description: This item is a framed, early-to-mid 20th century reprint of one of the most iconic Japanese woodblock prints: "Sudden Shower over Shin-Ōhashi Bridge and Atake" (Ōhashi atake no yūdachi), originally created by the celebrated ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858).

The striking composition, featuring fine, parallel lines to depict the downpour, is famous for its atmospheric effect and its profound influence on Western art. Vincent van Gogh admired this specific print so much that he created his own oil painting copy of it in 1887.
