Description: This is an exceptional example of one of the most famous and decorative antique maps of the African continent from the Dutch Golden Age of cartography. Created by the master cartographer Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571-1638), this map, titled Africae Nova Descriptio (A New Description of Africa), was originally published in his landmark atlases between 1630 and the 1660s.
