This large vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel vase features a striking black ground decorated with a dense wirework "cloud" pattern. The central body depicts a classic bird and flower motif, featuring a pair of colorful birds perched on flowering branches with blooming pink and white peonies. The neck and foot are adorned with traditional ruyi-head borders and scrolling floral bands in various enamel colors. The vase is finished with a gilt-rimmed flared mouth and a matching gilt base. The interior and underside are coated in the characteristic turquoise-blue counter-enamel.
