Details

This lot features two framed literary and editorial illustrations by Norman Rockwell.

  • Left: "Freedom from Fear," originally published in The Saturday Evening Post on March 13, 1943. This piece is the fourth in Rockwell’s famous "Four Freedoms" series, inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union address. It depicts a mother and father tucking their children into bed during the height of WWII.

  • Right: "Second Fiddle," an illustration for the story by Howard Rigsby, originally published in the January 19, 1952 edition of The Saturday Evening Post. The scene shows a man in a trench coat looking up at a woman working on a large sculpture, captured with Rockwell’s signature narrative wit. Both items originate from the Norman Rockwell Museum of the South.
