Details

This lot includes two wide-format framed prints by Norman Rockwell, illustrating diverse themes of hobbyist passion and international observation.

  • Left: "The Numismatist," originally created as an advertisement for the Franklin Mint. The scene depicts an elderly coin collector meticulously examining his collection with a magnifying glass, accompanied by a younger man and a faithful dog in a scholarly study filled with books and medals.

  • Right: "The Russian Schoolroom," originally published in Look magazine on October 3, 1967. This piece was part of a series documenting Rockwell's visit to the Soviet Union, showing a classroom of attentive students in red neckerchiefs, representing the Young Pioneers, with a bust of Lenin visible in the background. Both items originate from the Norman Rockwell Museum of the South.
