This traditional African tribal neck rest or low stool is hand-carved from a single piece of light-toned hardwood, exhibiting an authentic, aged patina with natural splitting and wear consistent with age and tribal use. The piece features a gently curved, rectangular top platform designed to cradle the neck or serve as a low seat, flanked by two carved handles projecting from either end. The stool is supported by four integrated, blocky rectangular feet. The underside shows distinct hand-hewn adze marks and a darkened, weathered surface.
