Description

A substantial and historically interesting grouping of vintage U.S. Army military medals, patches, and pins spanning the WWII through Cold War eras. This extensive lot belonged to a Private Graefe and offers a wide variety of insignia for the serious collector or military historian.

Highlights of the Collection:

  • Medals and Ribbons: Several full-size cased medals (including the Meritorious Service Medal) with accompanying ribbon bars and lapel pins, suitable for display or research.
  • Patches and SSI: A large assortment of cloth shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) and other patches, including a distinctive "Ranger" tab and a specific "Fall Camp 83 RBTC" patch linking the items to a specific training event and individual.
  • Metal Insignia: Numerous unit distinctive insignia (DUIs), rank chevrons and bars, and collar insignia, including the notable "castle" design of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Provenance: Includes a personalized name tape for "GRAEFE" which, along with the unique camp patch, provides valuable documented provenance, a key factor in increasing value for militaria.
