This matching pair of tall, circular display stands features inset variegated gray and white marble tops. The rosewood frames are extensively decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl inlays depicting prunus blossoms and floral vines. Each pedestal is designed with a pierced and carved apron showing openwork cherry blossoms, supported by four slender cabriole legs. The legs are connected by a carved X-form stretcher for added stability and terminate in delicate scrolled feet. These stands are typical of the ornate furniture produced during the late Qing to early Republic period, intended for the display of fine porcelain or jardinières.
