This captivating mixed media painting by renowned Miami outsider artist Purvis Young (1943–2010) beautifully portrays some of his most celebrated and deeply personal motifs: wild horses and the urban landscape. The composition centers on a group of ethereal, fluidly rendered white and light blue horses, which in Young's visual lexicon symbolize freedom, strength, and an untamed spirit.
The horses appear to glide majestically above a dense cityscape composed of blocky, grid-windowed buildings.
