Description

Up for auction is a classic piece of mid-century American craftsmanship: a Hartmann Luggage hardside suitcase in a deep chocolate brown pebble-grain finish. Known for their "built-to-last" philosophy, this Hartmann piece features the brand’s signature wrap-around leather reinforcement straps and heavy-duty brass hardware.

Features & Details:

  • Dimensions: 26" L x 20" H x 8" W (Ideal "Pullman" size for checked travel).

  • Brand: Authentic Hartmann Luggage, featuring the branded flip-lock brass latch.

  • Provenance: This piece carries incredible travel history, featuring an original Norwegian America Line (NAC) luggage sticker. The sticker references the legendary luxury cruise ships MS Sagafjord and MS Vistafjord, often cited as some of the most high-end vessels of the 1970s and 80s.

  • Personalization: Features a riveted leather tag gold-stamped with the initials "J.E.T."

  • Construction: Textured industrial-grade exterior with tonal protective piping and a sturdy integrated leather handle.

Condition:

The suitcase is in Good Vintage Condition. The exterior shows minor scuffing consistent with travel use, adding to its authentic character. The brass hardware shows a natural aged patina (verdigris), and the leather straps remain structurally sound.
